This painting is strongly influenced by Egyptian tomb murals. No one gave more thought and energy to burial or imagining the Journey to the Afterlife than the Egyptians. Though my painting is a tribute to my sister Jephrey, and is very full of my own love for her, and my own style of working acrylic paint; the idea of moving from left to right across space, and showing a person from their place on earth moving toward God in heaven is definitely Egyptian.
